If you are looking for a quick fort stop in Palghar district, Bhavangad is a great choice. It sits near Kelve and Saphale, a small hill fort from the Vasai-campaign era, and the climb takes only about 10 minutes. At the top you enter the citadel through the old Gomukhi gateway, with the Bhavangadeshwar temple, a water tank and two storage caves to see. The walls are rough-set but full of character. Saphale station is close by, and the fort can be visited any time of year.
