The fort's distinctive pinnacle rises above Nadhal village in Raigad district, and while the base fort is an easy walk, the final needle is strictly for experienced climbers. Most trekkers enjoy the lower plateau and the views of the Morbe dam backwaters and surrounding hills. It is about 55 km from Mumbai with Chauk station barely 4 km from the base. June to February works well, with the monsoon turning the whole hill emerald.
