Manjarsumbha Fort
Ahmednagar
If you are looking for an easy historic fort near Ahmednagar, Manjarsumbha is a great choice. The small hill was built to guard the Wambori Pass, protected by natural moat-like shallow valleys and a narrow defended approach. The ascent takes barely 15 minutes, and the surviving bastions, entrance remains and old structures reward a slow wander. At 796 metres it is never demanding. Ahmednagar station is the railhead, and July to March covers the comfortable visiting months.
