Vetal Tekdi
Pashan/Erandwane, Pune city
If you are looking for the highest point inside Pune city, Vetal Tekdi is a great choice. The hill between Pashan and Erandwane rises to about 800 metres, criss-crossed by walking and jogging trails that Punekars use every morning. Birding here is surprisingly good, and the top gives city views on one side and the Western Ghats on the other. Pune Junction is only about 10 km away. A 1 to 2 hour walk here works any time of year, with monsoon mornings the greenest.
