Revdanda Fort
Revdanda/Agarkot, Raigad district
If you are looking for a Portuguese fort wrapped around a living village, Revdanda is a great choice. The fortified settlement stands at the mouth of the Kundalika River in Raigad district, with its old gateway, tower and ruined manors still rising between the houses. Walking the village-scale walls takes 1 to 2 hours, and the beach alongside is a bonus. It is about 115 km from Mumbai. November to February is the pleasant window, and it pairs well with nearby Korlai.
