Sarjekot Fort (Alibaug)
Alibaug beach, Raigad district
If you are walking Alibaug beach at low tide, Sarjekot is a tiny bonus fort worth the steps. Beside the famous Kolaba Fort, this miniature tidal fort measures only about 26 by 27 metres, ringed by five bastions and a fortified wall. At low tide you walk to it across the sand; at high tide the sea takes the causeway back. It takes minutes to see, but it completes the story of Alibaug's coastal defenses. October to February is the pleasant season.
