Bitangad Fort
Bitangwadi, Kalsubai range, Ahmednagar district
If you are looking for a quiet watch fort in the Kalsubai range, Bitangad is a great choice. The trail from remote Bitangwadi village in Ahmednagar district climbs steep rock-cut steps for about an hour. The summit is narrow, with only a few structural remains, but the view is the point: Kalsubai and the Alang, Madan, Kulang trio all show up from here. It is a moderate half-day trek well off the busy circuit. November to February gives the clearest long-range views, with Igatpuri as the railhead.
