hard4 Hours and 30 MinutesOct-Feb

If you are looking for the toughest trek in the Sahyadris, the AMK trek is the one. Alang, Madan and Kulang are three massive forts in the Bhandardara region, usually attempted together over two to three days of serious climbing. The route involves rock patches, narrow ridges, long traverses and nights spent in caves on the forts themselves. It is around 135 km from Mumbai with Igatpuri as the nearest station, but this is strictly for experienced trekkers with proper gear. Attempt it between October and February, and never in the monsoon.
