Madh Fort
Madh Island, Mumbai
If you are looking for a Portuguese fort inside Mumbai, Madh Fort is a great choice. Built around 1600 between Madh Island and Versova, it guarded Marve Creek, and its ramparts and bastions are still intact. The fort looks straight out at the Arabian Sea, and the fishing-village setting around it adds to the charm. Malad station is the railhead on this side of the city.
